Inspired by Berlin's arched facades, this mirror is the outcome of a month of material research.

During this material research we took the material brass as our basis. We experimented with its characteristics like gloss, texture and color. We became intrigued by the changeability of the material when fastening the oxidation process.
The outside of the arch is oxided and the bright green, grainy texture forms a vivid contrast to the smooth, shiny golden brass.

The mirror is an ode to the typical arched facades found throughout Berlin and alludes to Marcel Breuer’s theory where circular shapes represents the female and square shapes represent the male. Consisting out of both shapes, the mirror can be seen as a translation of a male and female collaboration.

Facade was on display as part of the exhibition "In No Particular Order" during the Dutch Design Week.
